Worm Castings Recommended Application

Perennials

Gently mix 1/2 cup earthworm castings into the soil above the root zone. Take care not to damage shallow roots. Best to apply in spring, early summer, and fall.

Container Plants

NEW – Use 1 part earthworm castings with 3 parts soil or potting mix.
ESTABLISHED – Add 1”-2” of earthworm castings to top of soil; gently mix in, and water. Repeat every 2-3 months.

Vegetables & Annuals

Sprinkle 1”-2” of earthworm castings on bottom and sides of plant holes or seed furrows; then add seeds, seedlings, or plants. Side dress with 1/2 cup per plant every 2-3 months.

NEW or TRANSPLANTED: Mix 1 part earthworm castings to 2 parts soil. Spread mixture evenly along the bottom and sides of plant hole; spread roots out over the mix, then cover with the mix.

MAINTENANCE: Gently work 4 cups of earthworm castings into soil above the root zone. Water and repeat every 2-3 months.
